The baju kurung is one of the simplest yet resplendent ethnic costumes around. Worn typically by Malay women from Brunei and Malaysia (where it is the national costume), Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, the baju kurung consists of a knee-length blouse worn over a long skirt, usually matched with a scarf or shawl.
