During a call, simply tap the button located at the top left of your screen— and voila! The recording will then be automatically saved to your Notes app, allow you to track your important conversations on the go.
What’s even better? iOS 18 ensures transparency to by notifying the other party when you activate the recording feature. Thus, it provide privacy protection while maintaining trust for both parties.
2. App Icon Customization
iOS 18 allow users to have the freedom to move app icons and widgets with space between them. It is now possible to have a blank spot above an app icon and create a more functional and visually appealing home screen. This update give you more control over how your home screen looks according to your own preference. It’s your home screen— decorate it exactly how you like. Now, your lovely pet dog’s face is visibly clear for your display—no complaints!
3. Math Solving in Messages and Notes
iOS 18 also introduced a groundbreaking feature that allows users to perform math calculations and conversions directly within the Messages app. Just type your math problem then add an equals sign— and voila! You get the total in a split-second. No more switching between apps!
Same goes to the Notes app, you can easily insert your equations and it will directly solve them! It’s perfect for anyone needing quick calculations for add up bills, total up the expenses or splitting checks thus keeping all your notes and calculations in one place.

Apple introduced an iPhone Mirroring option, where you may seamlessly manage your iPhone using your Mac with by mirroring your iPhone’s display to your Mac’s display. You can click in to any of your apps and use it on the Mac just like you would on the iPhone.
As long as your Mac runs macOS Sequoia and that has an Apple silicon chip (M1 or later) or a T2 security chip, you’re good to go. Essentially, make sure your Mac and your iPhone need to be close to one another.
5. Siri Gesture Controls on AirPods
AirPods now support gestures for Siri command thanks to iOS 18, which allows you to accept or reject calls by simply shaking or nodding your head. And, it’s not just limited to phone calls— you can also interact with Siri’s message announcement using these head movements. It’s definitely practical when you’re hands-free and need to manage calls without touching your devices. Now, using your AirPods feels like second nature!
