kim woo bin

South Korean model-turned-actor Kim Woo Bin first stormed into the acting scene in 2013 with the hit drama School 2013, and since then he has landed juicy roles that have honed his acting abilities and allowed him to improve dramatically (geddit?).

Having started out as a menswear model, the 27-year-old quickly rose to fame after his acting debut. These days, he’s an accomplished actor who charms the audience not only on the small screen but also on the big one.

Here are five times Kim Woo Bin stole our hearts:

1. When he played a misunderstood bad boy in THE HEIRS

Ask a bunch of female audience and the majority of them will likely tell you they first fell for Kim Woo Bin because of his role in this hit high school drama, which depicts the politics, friendships, rivalries and love lives of young, rich heirs.

2. When he displayed his comedy acting chops in TWENTY

Who knew with a smouldering gaze like his that Kim Woo Bin would take to comedy like a fish to water? In the movie TWENTY (2015), he delivered a uproarious portrayal of a spoiled twenty-year-old brat embarking on his new stage of life with his two best friends.

3. When he portrayed his character in MASTER with heart

In the crime-action-thriller MASTER, his character is in fact less broody than he appears in the promotional poster (above). He plays a smart-mouthed techie who backs a powerful, fraudulent businessman before he is caught by the police and forced to reconsider his allegiance. You’ll be mesmerised by his nuanced performance here!

4. When he unabashedly flaunted his bromance with BFF Lee Jong-Suk

One of the best-known bromances in the K-pop industry, this pair met on the set of School 2013 and have been best buds ever since. From photo shoots to variety shows like Running Man, they have each other’s back and aren’t afraid to get goofy around each other.

5. When he was all kinds of cute with his girlfriend, actress/model Shin Min-Ah

Kim Woo-Bin and Shin Min-Ah for Giordano Fall/Winter 2016

The low-key couple got together after spending time on set filming ads, and reportedly like to go on long drives around Seoul. Shin, who has also starred in several hit dramas like MY GIRLFRIEND IS A NINE-TAILED FOX (2010) and ARANG AND THE MAGISTRATE (2012), has expressed that she’s an avid fan of Kim’s work, and that an age gap like theirs doesn’t bother her one bit. Aren’t they just a ridiculously good-looking couple?
