Here at ZALORA LUXURY, we offer a wide range of designer brands that are both brand new and pre-loved. From widely-known ones such as Hermes, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton to more niche brands such as Pollini and Twinset, you’d be forgiven for not knowing all that we have to offer to you.

That’s why, for ZALORA LUXURY Designer Week happening from April 25th to May 1st 2023, we are thrilled to introduce these under-the-radar luxury brands that might have escaped your attention on ZALORA LUXURY.

Chloé

French luxury brand Chloé is most known for its feminine and soft designs. It was established in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, and was named after the designer’s good friend Chloe Huysmans whom she often dressed. Here’s a fun fact not many might know: Karl Lagerfeld was Chloé’s head designer in 1966! Stella McCartney also cut her teeth in the luxury brand before going on to start her own eponymous brand. Chloé’s current creative director is Gabriela Hearst.

The fashion house’s ready-to-wear garments often take on a free-spirited femininity that is echoed even in their fragrance line. You’ll likely recognise the brand’s signature padlock design on their bags, but the original stemmed from the Paddington bag, which debuted in 2005.

See by Chloé

Created for a younger audience, See by Chloé was established in 2001 by its then-creative director, Phoebe Philo. The sister brand to Chloé stays true to the original brand’s feminine aesthetic. Their bags are extremely popular with its bohemian styles and the signature braided O-ring.

Pollini

Italian luxury leather goods brand Pollini has 70 years of storied history behind it. It hails from a small town in Emilia-Romagna, a region in northern Italy, which eventually became known as an authentic shoemaking district with a great number of highly-skilled local artisans.

Pollini is best known for its Daytona collection featuring lace-up boots and casual shoes, which has become a hallmark of the brand’s design identity.

Twinset

Founded in 1987 by Simona Barbieri and Tiziano Sgarbi, this Italian luxury fashion brand is best known for its clothing and accessories that blend femininity, elegance, and romanticism with a contemporary twist.

Fans of Twinset will tell you that the brand is a, “if you know, you know” sort of quiet luxury. They pride themselves with their distinctive style, high-quality craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Knitwear is one of the cornerstones of the brand’s popularity, but they also often use other luxurious materials in their pieces including cashmere, silk, and lace.

Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen needs no introduction to those who are attuned to the inner workings of the fashion world. Founded by the late Alexander McQueen, the British fashion house has always been known for its avant garde, theatrical designs that stun even the fashion world. Just take his infamous lobster-like platform heels — the Armadillo shoe — that Lady Gaga often wore in the early days of her career. His skull motif was also extremely popular, interpreted as the skull “knucklebag” box clutches, printed scarves, and more.

Balenciaga

Love it or hate it, Balenciaga has often been the talk of the town. Before Demna Gvasalia, the brand actually had a rich history and legacy. It was established in 1917 by Spanish designer Cristobal Balenciaga with a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a design identity that was ahead of its time.

Today, the brand focuses on a streetwear-inspired aesthetic and has collaborated with multiple brands for capsule collections that further push this direction. Among some of the popular brands that Balenciaga has collaborated with include Adidas, Crocs, Vibram, Gucci, and more.

Moncler

When you think of functionality in clothing, you rarely put “luxury” in the same sentence. Moncler, however, is one of those rarities. The luxury fashion brand is most known for its functional, premium down-filled outerwear that the rich often have in their wardrobe, which they often break out for winter sports — like skiing.

Modern Moncler is now known for an aesthetic that combines classic and contemporary elements with sleek silhouettes, clean lines, and minimalist details. Loyal fans that continually go back to Moncler have a sophisticated style that still wants functionality with luxury.

Valentino

Another Italian luxury brand that needs no introduction is Valentino Garavani. You’ll most likely recognise the brand’s campaign featuring a distinctive series of hot pink pieces previously, but Valentino is also known for so much more. The “Rockstud” detailing is one of the brand’s most iconic design features found in shoes, bags, and other accessories.

Valentino has also always been one of the popular celebrity choices for the red carpet including Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lady Gaga, Olivia Coleman, and more.
