Get ready to indulge in serious fashion and beauty envy because Zalora’s Raya Fashion Show for 2023 just took off! This year’s House of Zaloraya was an event to remember! Held on the 7th of March at The Starhill in Jalan Bukit Bintang in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, House of Zaloraya was the ultimate showcase of the latest and most significant Baju Raya 2023 fashion trends.
The runway was set up in the centre of the venue, with spotlights filled with flowers and light shining down on the models as they strutted their stuff in the latest fashions. From 2 pm to 8 pm, all fashion enthusiasts witnessed a stunning display of fashion, beauty, and artistry. Each slot presents three well-known homegrown brands in Malaysia: Maslea, Syomirizwa Gupta, Yadotsa, Tom Abang Saufi, Alia B., Afiq M., and NH By Nurita Harith and our very own in-house brand Zalia & Lubna.
The event kicked off with a stunning showcase from Maslea, Yadotsa, and Syormirizwa Gupta. Maslea’s collection was a celebration of classic Malay vintages from the 1980s called “Permata Jiwa”, while Yadotsa’s collection was a beautiful fusion of traditional and contemporary touches of floral baju kurung. Syomorizwa Gupta ends the first slots elegantly with timeless fashion, featuring kebayas and sarongs.
The crowd awaited the next set of designers as the fashion show continued. Then, suddenly, the runway lit up, and out came Zalia, Tom Abang Saufi, and Lubna, each with their unique style that left the audience mesmerized.
Zalia’s collection paid homage to the timeless elegance of baju kurung, with delicate lace and intricate details that exuded grace and sophistication. Tom Abang Saufi’s pieces, on the other hand, made a bold and daring statement with vibrant colours and flowy silhouettes that demanded attention.
And just when the crowd thought they had seen it all, Lubna took the stage and turned up the energy with a pop-inspired collection that burst with fun and playful designs. A local artist’s (@intanshafinasmusic) electrifying performance kept the attendees entertained between runway walks, adding to the excitement of the show.
The third showcase featured Alia B, Afiq M, and NH by Nurita Harith, closing the runway with a bang! Alia B’s collection was a tribute to modern women’s beauty with its stunning and intricate details. Anna Jobling and Farah Ann were also spotted elegantly in Alia B’s dress. The night session was a luxurious display of colour, fabric, and embroidery, leading up to an absolutely jaw-dropping Raya collection that left everyone gasping for air!
The excitement was palpable as Malaysian celebrities and fashion influencers, including Vanidah Imran, Nadia Brian, Kilafairy, and Aishah Sinclair, gathered to celebrate the Zaloraya fashion show. From the moment they stepped into the venue, it was clear that this would be a night to remember. The buzz of anticipation was almost tangible as everyone eagerly awaited the showcase of the latest fashion trends. As the models took to the runway, the crowd erupted into thunderous applause and cheers, their energy feeding into the electric atmosphere.
