Just like everything related to the Kardashian-Jenner clan, the phrase ‘baking your face’ flooded the internet after the sisters revealed their makeup routine and was widely raved by other makeup artists and celebrities. But is baking really as good as it seems?

Before it became a trend, baking was used by drag queens to achieve that dramatic look. It even dates back as early as ancient Egypt and early Victorian era.

Baking is basically applying loose translucent powder on areas you want to highlight on your face such as under-eye and under your contours. This step takes up to 15 to 20 minutes, allowing your body heat to warm up and set it. After that, gently dust off excess powder with a brush.
